Silver City Clay Festival, Silver City NM, July 16-21

About CLAY

Clay, mud and earth are the common ground of New Mexico’s people and the embodiment of their history. Taking place every summer in Silver City, New Mexico since 2012, the Silver City CLAY Festival gathers together artists, educators, entrepreneurs, families, youth, adventurers, and life-long learners to explore clay in its many forms as well as its impact on our history, present, and future.

Our Mission

The mission of the Silver City CLAY Festival is to establish a signature celebration of clay, to educate and build appreciation for clay and its many adaptations, to advance the craft and creativity of artists, and to promote the artisans and the communities of Silver City and New Mexico as a Clay Corridor, a vibrant intersection of indigenous clay cultures and current clay arts.

The festival intends to foster an entrepreneurial spirit that engages local businesses, artists, and the global community in a unified enthusiasm for clay leading to rural economic sustainability.
